At the beginning of 2022, Jan Rot, a celebrated singer and theatre maker, passed away. Marjolein Meijers worked with Rot a lot and formed the duo An en Jan with him for over 20 years. Together they released many albums and singles. “You are going to make a show with my songs, right?”, Rot asked the last time they saw each other. And so, Vrienden van Jan hebben een Rot avond was born. The show was a success and it is high time for another tribute to the music of Jan Rot. That is why the friends will be in the theatre in the 2025/2026 season with Vrienden van Jan hebben een Rot-meezing avond – deel II. For this second edition, Marjolein Meijers will once again be on stage with Jakob Klaasse, Walter Kuipers and Onno Kuipers. The second part of this sing-along show once again pays tribute to the striking singer. Enjoy Jan Rot’s beautiful lyrics and be surprised by well-known and lesser-known songs from his extensive oeuvre.
