Bello Festival

On the first weekend of July 2026, the Museum Steam Tram is organizing the annual Bello Festival between Hoorn and Medemblik. This year’s theme is 50 Years of the Historic Triangle Hoorn-Medemblik-Enkhuizen.

Featuring a large collection of historic steam and diesel locomotives, an extensive timetable will be operated between the restored stations of Hoorn, Wognum, Twisk, and Medemblik on the weekend of July 4 and 5. To make the event possible, various one-off guest appearances by locomotives from other museums in the Netherlands will take place.

A steam tram will run every 45 minutes. Subsequently, Motor Ship Friesland sails between Medemblik and Enkhuizen.

But that is not all. To make the journey through the Historic Triangle entirely complete, a large steam express train will run on July 4 and 5 between the steam tram station in Hoorn and the port of Enkhuizen. This connects with the steam trams and the boat. The largest locomotives in our country are coming to West Friesland for this.

The city center of Hoorn is also part of the festivities this year!

On Friday, July 3, we kick off with a special evening program at and around the steam tram station in Hoorn.
