Step back into the Middle Ages at Radboud Castle! On Whit Sunday and Whit Monday, the craftsmen of the Hanseatic Company can once again be found on the castle grounds. During this Medieval Summer Camp, the rope maker, the wool spinner, and the bow and arrow maker will be happy to tell you all about their trades. Furthermore, you can watch the medieval cook at work and listen to the stories of the blacksmith.
The Hanseatic Company
The Hanseatic Company owes its name to the medieval alliance of Hanseatic cities, founded by the merchants. Thanks to this cooperation, the cities could trade more easily and defend their interests. The Hanseatic cities were wealthy enough to hire knights and soldiers.
Medieval Encampment free to visit
The Medieval Encampment is located on the castle square and is freely accessible. If you also wish to visit the museum, we recommend ordering your tickets in advance, but this is not mandatory.
