This film concert takes you into the world of sailing and steamships in the silent film era. Sail through Amsterdam in 1915, past the harsh fishing life of Marken and Volendam in 1920. Travel down the Rhine by steamship in 1922, through the bustling port of Rotterdam to Hook of Holland.

Step aboard the enormous four-masted barque Pamir in 1930 and climb its 40-meter-high masts on the high seas. Hold on tight as we brave spectacular storms and typhoons!

Travel back in time with historical scenes of sailing and steamship travel, fishing, whaling, impressive ships, small boats, and expensive yachts. Famed comedian Buster Keaton showcases the humorous side of sailing with hilarious scenes in “The Boat” (1921) and aboard “The Love Nest” (1923), featuring plenty of breathtaking stunts.
