Playing a Beethoven sonata, a Scriabin prelude, a Bach fugue: art! Filling a grand piano with nails and a piano with ping-pong balls and then hearing how it sounds: more art! Art art art. Sticking a deconstructed apple turnover to a cutting board with putty while muttering the names of your ancestors? No wait, that’s just obscure, but okay – whatever you want.

When is something art? Beth & Flo should know, they were not initiated into the “great art” of classical music at the conservatory for nothing. And now they make “cabaret”. As if it were nothing. As if they could contribute so much more to the flourishing artistic outbursts that the world has to offer. How? If everything is already there, what is so much more?
