Film concert featuring the comedy Steamboat Bill Jr. by Buster Keaton from 1928, accompanied by film concert pianist Yvo Verschoor.
The film is known for what is perhaps Buster Keaton’s most famous and most imitated film stunt: the facade of a house falls around him, but because he is standing exactly where the open window lands, he is not crushed. This film is the sequel to The General and, just like that great film, was unfortunately not a box office success, making it the last film Keaton made for United Artists in which he could have complete freedom and give free rein to his imagination.
The result is a series of the most amazing stunts, culminating in a devastating hurricane, and a timeless comedy that still amazes young and old.
Naturally, there is also a pre-show featuring videos and clips related to the main film.
The program lasts approximately 90 minutes and there is a break, so the entire program lasts until around 10:00 PM.
