On Saturday, May 9th, the Groene Kerkje (Green Church) managed to arrange something very special: a performance by the energetic indie-pop/folk duo Jack and the Weatherman. Despite their packed schedule, the duo, consisting of Berry Krikken and Sebastiaan Weerman, still managed to find a spot in Lambertschaag’s most beautiful church.
Jack and the Weatherman is a rapidly growing Dutch pop-folk band, enjoying considerable popularity internationally and on streaming platforms (nearly 100 million streams). They have built a strong live reputation and draw full houses, not only in the Netherlands but also in Europe and beyond. They perform frequently, with highlights in 2026 including a major showcase at Noorderslag and a sold-out show at Paradiso.
Other major pop venues are also scheduled for the end of 2026, including Patronaat in Haarlem, Melkweg in Amsterdam, Oosterpoort in Groningen, Paard in The Hague, Effenaar in Eindhoven, and Tivoli in Utrecht. Their popularity extends beyond the Netherlands, with a sizable fan base in countries including Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, and the UK. A major tour of South Africa is planned for March. Their hit “Till the Sun Comes Up” has been certified platinum in the Netherlands and was featured in the film “De Terugreis” (The Return Journey). This hit underscores their focus on their mission: spreading “sun-drenched songs.”
For the Groene Kerkje, a wonderful end to a special season, and hopefully the beginning of a long, beautiful summer for our visitors.
