Museum Huis van Oud
Museum ‘Huis van Oud’ The Huis van Oud is a well-preserved farmer’s home from 1878. It has a characteristic location by the impressive Grote Zomerdijk, in between Wognum and Spanbroek. When the last inhabitant, Cees Oud, passed away in 1998 and the property was put up for auction, the Historic Association De Cromme Leeck from Wognum took it upon itself to take care of the premises. The small agricultural business consists of a 8×7-metre home and a 20×5-metre stable. Huis van Oud provides a good picture of what a mixed business looked like in the forties and fifties of the last century. The almost perfectly preserved and therefore unique interior of the house shows what people lived like back then. The stable displays the primitive business operation. Inside the house, the nicely decorated box bed doors stand out in the living room. The stables boast attributes related to the agricultural past of the region.
