24 Uurs Zeilrace Medemblik

On Friday, August 30, 2024, one of the largest sailing races for cabin yachts in Northern Europe will start, the Coastal Sailors 24 Hour Sailing Race. A true spectacle with hundreds of boats on the IJsselmeer, Markermeer, the Wadden Sea and the North Sea on the hunt for as many miles as possible in 24 hours with the finish: Medemblik on Saturday, August 31, 2024.

Sailing for 24 hours, waiting, cooking, eating and sleeping during the race, night sailing and achieving a great result at the same time. These are often new experiences for many sailors. You simply must have done this! You can participate in the tour or participate in the competition. And then on Saturday evening, August 31, after the finish to Medemblik. Medemblik is then at its best! The sailors are welcomed by the 24h announcer upon arrival. In the space of a few hours, around 400 sailing yachts arrive at the end of the day on Saturday.

The catering industry, various bands and artists on the Oosterhaven quay and in the city center put their best foot forward to ensure that spectators have a great time and provide a fantastic afternoon and evening.

PLEASE NOTE: On Saturday evening between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM, the Kwindsebrug will be open. It is then not possible to enter or leave the city center via the bridge.
