Medemblik is the smallest and oldest town of West-Friesland. History tells a story of the battle against but also prosperity thanks to the water. To this day, the town is teaming with liveliness and activities.
Medemblik bids you a warm welcome for some shopping, hiking and relaxation. You'll return home completely satisfied. The historic city centre is surprisingly complete for its small size. You'll find plenty of cute shops, operated by enthusiastic shopkeepers. And to satisfy your inner cravings, there are cosy cafés, restaurants and bars. Each with its own ambiance and menu, catering to any taste and budget.
Take a lovely stroll down the old town, in the park and alongside the marinas. You can reach the city beach by following the route to Radboud Castle. The centre boasts 3 museums and the Steam-powered tram takes you to its picturesque little station all the way from Hoorn. Each season has its own bustling activities, from markets to events in and around the water.
