Stichting Oud Onderdijk has decided to hold a photo exhibition about the Roman Catholic church of Onderdijk, due to the closure of the church. This will take place on October 26 and 27, 2024 Gerardus Majella Church in Onderdijk.
Why this exhibition?
Since January 1, 2024, the merger between the parishes of Medemblik, Andijk, Wervershoof and Onderdijk has been a fact. By decree of the Diocese of Amsterdam-Haarlem, the new parish has been given the name Sint Titus Brandsma Parochie with the addition ‘De Vooroever’.
The parish is named after the Dutch Carmelite priest. This priest has taken many initiatives in the field of Catholic emancipation, education and journalism. The closing of the church has stirred up many emotions in Onderdijk and the church is for sale. That is why Stichting Oud Onderdijk has decided to hold a photo exhibition about the Roman Catholic church of Onderdijk.
