Singer-songwriter Roon Staal has been known for over 25 years for his phenomenal tenor voice and beautiful piano playing. He effortlessly takes the audience into a magical and relaxing atmosphere.

Discovered abroad

Roon Staal was offered a studio contract in Hollywood at a young age. 5 songs were recorded with 2 producers and various performances followed. His great musical talent was also noticed by Art Garfunkel, known from the legendary duo Simon & Garfunkel. Art Garfunkel visited Roon at home in North Holland after which they went on tour together through Europe. For example, Roon provided the opening act for a European tour of Art Garfunkel.

Gilbert O’Sullivan

Returning audiences are enthusiastic about the singer’s smooth, warm voice and undulating piano playing. But British singer-songwriter Gilbert O’Sullivan also makes no secret of his enthusiasm for this authentic Dutch ‘troubadour’: “ It is his voice not least his songwriting ability that really shines throughout. ”

TV and Musical

As a child, Roon Staal was already on the stage and in TV studios with artists such as John Kraaijkamp Sr. and Ruth Jacott. As a young man in his twenties, he took on the title role in the rock opera ‘Tommy’, which received rave reviews. In the musical Rembrandt, he played alongside Henk Poort a little later, as son Titus van Rijn. Roon now leaves these stages behind and has fully devoted himself to his piano concerts in acoustically rich churches and small theaters.

Listening music

During the concerts you can hear a pin drop when he performs his beautiful own works and well-known cover songs. There is also nice interaction with the audience and you will get to know Roon better through the personal stories he tells in between.
