In “Always Someone,” Ricky tries to sort things out through song and story. It’s not easy. She humorously shares the issues she’s facing and sings songs that need to be sung.
She’s accompanied by one of the Netherlands’ best guitarists, Cok van Vuuren. They play songs by Ricky’s heroes, songs you’ll undoubtedly know, but also original tracks from her latest album. An album that brings everything together: Ricky’s love for Americana, but also her love for the Dutch language. “This album is my most personal record yet,” Ricky says.
The album received rave reviews. Frits Spits even coined a special name for it: Neerlandicana. Warm and personal country and soul songs in Dutch.
