Ramon van Engelenhoven en Louise Jones – Muziek van het hart

  • 6 June 2026
    • 20:15 – 21:45

In “Music of the Heart,” soprano Louise Jones and pianist Ramon van Engelenhoven embark on a poetic journey through the many faces of love. From the tender emotion of Fauré and Strauss to the fiery passion of Puccini and Donizetti, each song tells its own story of longing, solace, and memory. The program weaves arias and songs from various stylistic periods into a single musical narrative.

Louise Jones is a twenty-year-old soprano studying in New York City at the prestigious Manhattan School of Music conservatory under Professor Sidney Outlaw. After a year of study in Shanghai, where she took voice lessons with Professor Gabriel Song, she found her place in New York, where she is developing into a promising classical singer. At a young age, Louise began taking singing lessons with soprano Sabine Kirsten in Alkmaar. Sabine’s warm guidance sparked Louise’s love of classical singing. Louise also sings with the National Mixed Youth Choir, conducted by Laszlo Nemes and Irene Verburg. Thanks to her great dedication and willingness to travel extensively, she effortlessly combines her studies, choral singing, and concerts.

Ramon van Engelenhoven is a pianist and studied at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where he completed his Master’s degree with the highest possible grade. He has won prizes including the Princess Christina Competition and the Young Pianist Foundation Competition, where he was the first recipient of the ‘Grand Prix Youri Egorov’. Since then, he has performed both nationally and internationally, including at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Laeiszhalle Hamburg, and the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg. Ramon regularly collaborates with members of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and has soloed with various orchestras under conductors such as Ed Spanjaard and Tianyi Lu. In 2024, he was nominated for an Edison Classical Award for his album “Erich Wolfgang Korngold – A Portrait for Piano.”
