At the end of January, Yvo Verschoor and Kasper Janse of the Pianola Museum will perform a series of special concerts on the pianola, on two Aeolian 88-tone preludes from around 1915, as part of the original version of Igor Stravinsky’s Les Noces (in the 1919 version, completed by Theo Verbey).
They’ll have to study hard, as it’s not exactly the easiest music, and they need to synchronize it with the choir and orchestra. Koos van Kruistum of Euterpe Rolls is currently creating new, adapted music rolls for this, a technically astonishingly complex task.
