In Midwoud stands a house. And it is a very beautiful house! A ‘preserved’ house that was built in 1848 as a school, teacher’s residence, and town hall. Over time, there have been numerous renovations, until it lost its social functions and was in dire need of a refurbishment. This was done by Yvo Verschoor and his helpers. They restored its former glory with much hard work and, above all, much love. It is a gleaming preserved house and has become a household name in the village and the surrounding area. At the same time, it is a piano museum, where the history of the piano, as well as its connection to silent film and its entire development up to our current system, is told in a nutshell.
In this atmospheric space, where wonderful concerts by prominent artists are held throughout the year, Yvo has once again opened his museum to the Culture Salon. Beautiful evenings featuring enthusiastic musicians and an enthusiastic audience have already taken place here. The salon is an open stage where everyone is welcome to give a performance. The evening consists of an interesting mix of music, cabaret, poems, stories, book reviews, and whatever else has been submitted. All this takes place in an open atmosphere of connection, conviviality, and human-to-human interaction. The public is cordially invited. Admission is free, but a contribution is appreciated!
