YOU STAY WITH ME – THE WORK OF MAARTEN VAN ROOZENDAAL

Maarten van Roozendaal was one of the best cabaret artists of the past decades. His ease on stage, tremendous voice, great musicality and ingenious lyrics made a deep impression on the public and the press. With songs like Red mij niet, Kerst in April, Trouw zijn and Mooi he stole their hearts. His work was awarded several times. Unfortunately, the Netherlands was only able to enjoy his incredible talent for a short time; he died young, when he was 51.  

With a subtle sense of humor, Maarten once said: ‘Life has no meaning, but I do’. His overwhelming oeuvre testifies to this: like no other, he knew how to celebrate life on stage. Singer Niels van der Gulik and instrumentalist Richard Heijerman play a selection of his work and once again take a moment to reflect on Maarten: on his songs, lyrics and stories.
