Nico Dijkshoorn, the resident poet of ‘DWDD’ for 12 years, has thankfully once again not written a show in which everything he has ever experienced hinges together and rubs against each other as if by magic in echoing poetry.
No, it’s just the usual stuff again. Stories and songs about admiration, the singer of the Pogues, the manual for a new electrical device, the death of his parents, the relentless Dutch trucker hit ‘Vreemde Laarzen’, walking around Texel three times against your will, but above all about his love for music and… Batman.
With his band, The Hank Five, Nico plays and reads his way through his life for nearly two hours. No longer behind a candle in a TV studio, but blissfully happy with a guitar in front of him.
