Jazz @ HuisMidwoud: Mirjam van Dam

In March 2023, singer Mirjam van Dam and pianist/arranger Lex Jasper met for the first time, and did their first performance together in Zuidlaren, with the Lex Jasper Quartet consisting of Frans van Geest on bass, Gijs Dijkhuizen on drums and Vincent Koning on guitar. It was a great success and it tasted like more!

They joined forces and wrote almost fifty Dutch jazz songs in about two months; Lex the music and Mirjam the lyrics.

Their CD ‘Luister eens’ received rave reviews! Mirjam swings and sings just as easily in Dutch as in English or Yiddish.

Her lyrics sparkle and fit perfectly with the atmosphere of the music.

In short, this afternoon will undoubtedly be a special experience for anyone who loves language or jazz music!
