This film concert takes you into the world of sailing and steamships in the era of silent films. Sail through Amsterdam in 1915, past the original hard fishing life of Marken and Volendam in 1920. Travel down the Rhine by steamship in 1922, through the bustling port of Rotterdam to Hoek van Holland.

Climb aboard the massive four-masted barque Pamir in 1930 and climb its 40-meter-high masts on the high seas. Hold on tight as we brave spectacular storms and typhoons!

Sail back in time with historical images full of sailing and steamships, fishing, whaling, impressive ships, small boats and expensive yachts. The famous comedian Buster Keaton shows especially the funny side of sailing with hilarious situations in ‘The Boat’ (1921) and aboard ‘The Love Nest’ (1923), with many breathtaking stunts.
