The Village Festival on Friday, June 5, begins at 5:00 PM with the final stage of the Four Days Marches. The participating children will be given a festive welcome afterwards. This provides a local and recognizable kick-off to the weekend, bringing young and old together in the village.
Starting at 8:00 PM, the village cabaret by Onder de Loep is on the program. The local comedians humorously examine village life. Villagers, events, and relatable situations form the basis for an evening full of local jokes and sharp observations.
After the cabaret comes Swingo, a musical bingo where singing along and recognition take center stage. Participants receive a bingo card and play along using well-known songs. The format has become popular at party nights and, according to the organizers, fits well with the relaxed atmosphere of the Village Festival.
Ronnie Ruysdaal to party tent
Later in the evening, Ronnie Ruysdaal takes the stage. The singer, known as the former frontman of De Sjonnies, is announced as “the king of the polonaise”. He is known for, among other things, the song Dans je de hele nacht met mij.
His performance is intended to get the party tent at De Buurt going. Ruysdaal is known for Dutch-language party music, singalongs, and a high quotient of the conga line. In doing so, he aligns with the character of the Village Festival, where accessible entertainment and village conviviality take center stage.
Tickets for the Village Festival cost 15 euros. A Swingo card is included. Tickets are available via the Snertpop website.
