The Groene Kerkje in Lambertschaag is going to organize a Café Chantant with the intention of repeating it twice a year. The first afternoon is on Sunday, September 27 at 3:00 PM. Café Chantant (French for singing café, originating as early as the 19th century) provides a basic stage for local and regional singers.
Other forms of entertainment, such as recitation or a sketch, may also be possible in the future. However, the origin lies in the art of song, which alternates wicked and beautiful songs—songs from the treasure trove of Dutch cabaret. These songs are allowed to provoke and grate, balanced by very beautiful and moving songs. Let yourself be surprised by what the little church has to offer.
We can already reveal that none other than Tjesse Hoebe will be the accompanist on the piano, and he might even sit behind the organ for a moment. For the closing theme, we have come up with a fitting song that you can all sing along to—that goes without saying. We hope to see you on September 27, and for the reasonably low price of 10 euros, you shouldn’t miss out.
