This year, 13 is a lucky number, because on Sunday 13 October 2024, the Bokkentoer Medemblik will return for its 13th edition. Between 12:00 and 18:00, beer lovers can visit no fewer than 16 different tasting rooms in Medemblik to enjoy the tastiest bock beers of the season. This popular event attracts around 2,500 visitors each year and is a permanent part of the autumn programme in the region.

Beer sommelier Arjan Jonker as Special Guest

This year, the Bokkentoer offers a special addition: Beer sommelier Arjan Jonker will be present at the information stand from 12:00 to 15:00 to give tips about the different Bok beers and which flavors are best appreciated. Both novice and experienced beer lovers can enrich their knowledge and get advice here.

Participate with a stamp card and a chance to win prizes

At each tasting room, participants can order a bock beer, accompanied by a delicious amuse, upon presentation of their stamp card. After receiving a stamp per location, full cards can be handed in at the last stop, with which participants have a chance to win fantastic prizes. The award ceremony will take place in December at a beautiful location in Medemblik. Stamp cards can be purchased in advance via the participating catering establishments, the information stand (which will also be on the Nieuwstraat on Saturday 12 October) and via Bokkentoer.nl.

Unique means of transportation

To make it extra fun and easy for the participants, they can use various special means of transport upon presentation of the stamp card, such as a polder barge that sails through the harbours, a Citytours bus, a horse-drawn tram and even old war trucks. These means of transport stop at stops that are indicated on the route map, so that you can travel relaxed from location to location. The whole thing is further enhanced by the marching band Windkracht 13, which plays its most pleasant tunes at several locations.

Participants can obtain their stamp card at participating catering establishments, the information stand or online via Bokkentoer.nl. The event runs from 12:00 to 18:00, during which participants can follow their own route using the route map. It promises to be another great day full of bock beer, conviviality and a unique look at historic Medemblik.
