Beaches
Sand, sun and water. The many beaches alongside the IJsselmeer alone make a visit to Medemblik worth your while. There’s plenty of choice. Will you go for the hustle and bustle, or for secluded (near) privacy?
Medemblik is largely situated by the IJsselmeer. Beach fun all over the place! The water near the sandy beaches is shallow. This makes it safe for children. In addition, the water reaches a pleasant temperature during the warmer months.
De Vooroever
This recreational area stretches for several kilometres. You can find your own spot and lay out your towel. Beach pavilion De Zoete Zee provides a gorgeous view of the water.
Koopmanspolder
This remarkable area outside the dyke near Andijk makes for a great stroll down the natural sanctuary, a lazy time by the beach and a nice swim. Well-reachable by car, bicycle and of course on foot.
Nesbos
This beach area is part of De Vooroever. You can sunbathe at the sandy beach or find some shade down by the trees. Take a refreshing dive into the IJsselmeer. And it makes for great surfing. The daytime recreational area is open during early and late season.
